The real birder in our group

The recent article about the local birding trails (The Miner-Journal, Nov. 6) gives a very good description of the trails and where they are located.
There is one clarification that I need to make. John Simpson and Judy Parker have been the instigators of the trails. Judy made the first contacts with the Yellowhead Flyway Birding Trail Association, but John Simpson has been the local representative and most of the work on locating and clearing the first trail. He also got the foot bridge installed.
John is the real birder in our group.
It will be a nice afternoon walk to travel one or two of the trails on a pleasant day before the snow flies. If one travels rather slowly, you will see other wildlife as well as birds. So much habitat is being cleared that it is becoming rare to find good local wildlife viewing.
I hope anyone who is interested at all in birds of many species will check the trails out.
Note: Dogs are not allowed on these trails.
Thanks for the interest.
John Nightingale,
Esterhazy, Sask.
